Quick question.
Am looking for ideas.

If you could go on holiday anywhere, where would it be? Don't bother thinking about cost, but it has to take place during the two middle weeks of Feburary next year, maximum length, 17 days.

Somewhere in Canada so that I can see the Northern Lights.

Or the Niagara falls or the Grand Canyon. (Downside of the Grand Canyon - America = must get biometric passport.)

The Giant's Causeway was my other big must see, but I've been there now. I do recommend it, but not in February, because most of the things to do in that area involve walking and it'd be freezing. (Plus 4 days was enough to see everything of interest in that part of Ireland.)

I second the Grand Canyon idea. I went there before coming to University and it's an amazing experience.

Places I would like to go:

Rome
Salzburg
Norway (the fjords!)
Hawaii
Rural Japan (Not Tokyo but somewhere in the Japanese countryside)

I'm with you on Japan; but I would like a mix and see both Rural Japan and also modern day Japan ^_^.

Vanuatu. Beautiful, beautiful Pacific island. The country is poor to the extent that £100 makes you a rich man, but the majority of the populace live in agrarian villages, with little of the desire, avarice and venal anguish that punctuates so much of the Western world.

The scenery is beautiful, the people are friendly, the language is awesome and the national drink is made from a ground root that contains no alcohol, but a mixture of anaesthetics and analgesics that will make your lips go numb.

Best place I've been to.

Australias Opal mines
South Carolina's gem caves
New Zealand for the prettiness
Italy - Venice perhaps?
Cruise? Up north to see the northern lights (if it's the season)

I've always thought Australia was a really nice holiday destination. February is their summer, and depending what you want to do there's lots of places you could go.

For good weather - Southern Hemisphere.... Pacific islands

For spectacular scenery - I've always wanted to do the trans-Canadian train - be beautiful in the winter.

Does the Orient Express still run? - Or The Trans Siberian Railway? - would be something different.

I was gonna say "England" but since you're already there.... ;-)

Second choice? Australia or Hawaii.
